PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) 2 year Full Time Programme

 
The Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) is a 2 year programme carried out through a four semester system spread over two years.

The basic aim of this programme is to bring about an attitudinal change among the students, to develop their leadership qualities and to mould them into competent managers who will be able to handle resources effectively and take optimal decisions to achieve organizational goals.

The programme provides four area of specialization i.e. Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management and Information Technology Management.
 
Eligibility:Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM programme must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for qualifying examination or those who are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidate must have appeared for CAT/CMAT/XAT/MAT.

Career Options

Many students after completing their MCA program are confused about the career options available to them.  Information Technology is such a vast field that there are many options and opportunities that students might not be aware of. Some of the options available are:

1. Software programmer: The job profile involves writing computer programs in some programming language like Java, C#, vb.net, ASP.net, PHP etc

2. Software Testing: A software programmer develops software and the task of a software Tester is to ensure that the software satisfies the quality criteria laid by the organization.
In software testing, you would look at looking for application crashes, application behavior subject to various inputs and observe the outputs of the program. 

3. Database Administrator (DBA): Various large application requires, storing and retrieving huge volume of data. These data are stored in Databases (DBMS). There is a vast need to manage these databases. The major role here is to create users, backup data, optimize the database for performance, etc. The major option of specialization is Oracle, SQL server, DB2 etc.  

4. Software sales: Many students are not aware about the opportunities available in the software sales department. The software created has to be marketed and sold. Selling of software requires the correct understanding of the domain, the product. Understanding user requirements and approaching right customers. This requires understanding of the software systems.

5.  Networking: Those who are interested in Hardware can go for networking and hardware related jobs also.
